This is Day #2 for us at CHA Anaheim and we are excited to see some fabulous products today! Are you friends with us on Facebook? If so, then you probably saw our updates yesterday.If not, then visit us on Facebook and lets be friends.We were fortunate to have an entire day with Tim Holtz. Our class featured a wide range of techniques and we completed 15 tags. Don't worry, we will have the tags in the store for inspiration and watch out for some upcoming technique classes.

On another note, have you had the chance to take a peek at the new Basic Grey? We are excited to receive it and also look forward to starting another year of the Layout of the Month Class Program. If you are not familiar with the program, it is a 12 month class program (commitment is required) and each month you will complete a double page layout designed by Basic Grey. You will also complete a single page layout and card, designed by Clipper Street. Each kit features the latest Basic Grey and comes packed with product. We know these dies have been around for a little while, but we recently fell in love with these beauties! Memory Box is a wonderful manufacturer of metal dies for use in the Big Shot or Cuttlebug. What I love most about these dies are the delicate designs. They are just a little different than the other companies out there--different can be refreshing. Just looking at these designs makes me want to rip out the papers and embellishments and create something. Now you may be asking yourself, where does the addiction come into this? Well, we just ordered almost every die in the Memory Box Collection and they should be arriving in a couple of weeks.

The HOT Colour trend in 2012?

Each year Pantone picks the hot colour of the year and 2012 is the year of Tangerine Tango. Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? I have definitely noticed a correlation between what happens in fashion, decorating, etc and paper crafting. If we are seeing it on the racks, scrapbooking manufacturers will no doubt be using the same colour combo's in their collections. You know you are a true papercrafter when, while shopping in the Mall you stop and jot down colour combos or better yet take a snapshot with your trusty iPhone! If you are ever stuck for colour scheme ideas, home decorating magazines or fashion magazines are the perfect way to spot exciting colour combinations. Happy crafting, see you soon.

One of the must-see booths at CHA Summer is always Die Cuts with a View. They have great designers that make their booth stand out--this year they went with Christmas trees. An upside down tree and trees covered in handmade paper flowers.

If you want to see amazing samples then Prima Marketing Inc. is the place to go. Every year, their design team goes above and beyond. Serious eye-candy in this booth!

Just Rite Stamps had some great Stamp releases for Christmas and some adorable samples. Cannot wait to get these stamps in the Store.

Looking for colour at CHA, then the Ranger Booth is the place to be. Amazing displays of all their lovely inks, sprays,etc. Yummy!

You know we love ribbon at Clipper Street and lots of fantastic spools are headed our way. Ribbon is such a great and inexpensive addition to any project. So there are a few more photos from our CHA experience. Cannot wait to start receiving all of the products we have ordered--favourite time of the year.

CHA Re-Cap #1...Tim Holtz

We went to Chicago in the middle of a heat/humidity wave and lived to tell the tale. Must admit it is nice to be home to less humidity. Every Summer we travel to the CHA Summer Trade Show and buy,buy,buy. Christmas is our main focus and there were some adorable product lines released this year. There were also other exciting finds and we are eagerly awaiting all the new goodies to start arriving, over the next few months. Where to start? I think it is fitting to start with Mr. Tim Holtz--have you heard of him? If you are anything like us, you have heard of him and cannot wait to see what he comes up with next. There has been a lot of talk about Tim's release of Bags, Canvas boards and storage options. Here are some photos of those items...

These Canvas Boards were YUMMY and I already have wall space reserved in my home! Would also make an amazing base for a wonderful canvas project. Oh, the possibilities are truly endless.

Anyone that loves storage options--will have to have this adorable tool chest. There are a couple different sizes and it holds A LOT of stuff. Is it wrong that I want a couple to have in my home? They are so cute and have that vintage feel to them and they are functional too!

Do you love the Distress Stains? Yes, the rest of the colours have been released and that makes us happy. Love this stuff--if you haven't tried it, ask for a demo. Wonderful for colouring chipboard, canvas and there are some fun ways to colour your paper surfaces too.

Tim Holtz and tags just seem to go together. Cannot wait to see what he has up his sleeve for the Christmas Tags this year.

Do you see what I see? Yes, that is a NEW Pinecone Die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix. Isn't it wonderful? This Die will make a great addition to any Configurations project, a canvas and so many more projects.

Chicago Bound in July

It is probably going to be hot and humid, but that is the price we have to pay to see the latest and greatest the industry has to offer. We will be flying to Chicago in a few weeks to attend the CHA Trade Show and buy, buy, buy! It is hard to believe we will be looking at Winter and Christmas releases, but it is always fun to see what all the manufacturers have up their creative sleeves.

Everyone knows we l-o-v-e Tim Holtz products in the Store. Every once in a while we get a product in and are stumped when thinking of different ways to use it. But Tim always comes to the rescue via his Blog and if you haven't checked out his blog--go there immediately!

If you love items with a retro feel--then this is a great addition to your Scrapbooking space. If you haven't tried these Ink Applicators by Ranger you are truly missing something. The foam pads offer amazing coverage and they last a long time. This entire unit only takes up eight inches of space and hold eight applicators or other small craft products. Certainly a great way to get more organized and have those tools handy when you need them.

I am excited to see this line in person--I think it will be a very versatile line, perfect for many themes. Love the colours and it has a funkiness about it that is just plain fun. Keep an eye out for our newsletter letting you know when it will be in the Store--shouldn't be too long.

P.S Keep your eyes open for something slightly different from Basic Grey--we saw a sneak peek and loved what we saw.
